Sophie gained her Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience (Hons I) in 2009, and worked for 5 years in medical research. A problem horse of her own and a desire to return to her passion led Sophie back to the field of equine science, conducting a study on turmeric in preventing gastric ulcers in horses to complete her Master of Animal Science in 2016, after which she began consulting as an independent equine nutritionist. Sophie is currently continuing her education again, this time in the field of regenerative agriculture, in order to better help horse owners managed sustainable pastures. Sophie also writes for horse magazines, and has experience editing academic papers.
